CURIOUS ABOUT LIFE IN ISRAEL?
If you are interested in short or long term programs
or visits in Israel, Tnuat Am can link you up with resources
and information including links to a Conservative (Masorti)
community in Israel. If you are interested in the ultimate
step, aliyah, Tnuat Am can help you explore the
way with information about employment, education, housing,
finances, learning Hebrew, pilot trips and more.
New Program Launched
For those who are interested in aliyah, we have
a new program to ease the way on the long road to a
successful absorption. Although there are many agencies
to help new immigrants (olim), including our
own Masorti Movement, AACI (Association for Americans
and Canadians in Israel), and the Jewish Agency, a new
program has been proposed to us by Rabbi Paul Freedman
and his wife, Nina. Paul (who is Head of the North American
Desk of the Department of Jewish and Zionist Education
of the Jewish Agency) and Nina made aliyah in
l99l. They have volunteered to set up an "Adoption
Program". Simply put, interested olim, either
single or family, would be matched with an appropriate
family in Israel to help olim "learn the
ropes". Paul and Nina will be there in Israel to
coordinate and facilitate the "adoptions",
as long as we know in advance who would like to be "matched".
Whether for short or long term stays or aliyah,
Israel needs you and wants you now more than ever!
